Carr initially denied knowing anything about the baby when police questioned her. Eventually, she admitted that it had been her child, but it was stillborn. On Carr's Facebook account, detectives found she had deleted conversations with the baby's father. She initially told detectives she met the man when he was a customer at the McDonald's where she used to work.

She eventually admitted to having a sexual relationship with him. His name is redacted from court documents. The deleted Facebook messages show Carr speaking to the baby's father about how she deleted their messages but thinks police might be able to "undelete" them. Police swabbed both Carr and the baby's father to confirm they are the parents of the baby who was killed.

It took months for detectives to receive records from Snapchat, but when they received them in June, they detailed the night Carr gave birth. On January 17, , Carr tells the baby's father that she's in labor.

In the early hours of January 18, , Carr sends messages like, "I hope no one finds it. And how long I had to strangle it before it even stopped breathing Strong lil' girl. The messages go on to detail that Carr didn't want kids, and that she felt bad about what she had done. Carr is facing charges of first-degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body.
